Laura Beth Hinson at a young age, knew that she wanted to spend her time in the workforce field of assisting others and bettering her community. At that young age, she took that passion and had the opportunity to work for the Indiana Governors Commission and Indiana State Police. Laura gained an abundance of experience and knowledge while working with both agency’s. She was successful in grant writing at this young age and also proposing bills to State Legislators, U.S. Congress and U.S. Senate. Laura spent multiple years while in high school, in Washington D.C and was even on the house floor when one of her bills supporting community change was passed.
Upon receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from the University of Indianapolis, Laura Hinson began her career in the human services field. She has spent her entire career dedicated to protecting those from abuse, neglect and exploitation. In 2005, she started her journey with the Pinellas County Sheriffs Office as a Child Protection Investigator for six years. For the past eleven years, Laura has gained growth and knowledge in the Suncoast Region Adult Protective Services Program, in the following positions, Adult Protective Investigator, Human Services Program Specialist, Adult Protective Investigations Supervisor, Senior Human Services Program Specialist and current role Government Operations Consultant II. Laura earned certifications in Project Management and DMAIC in Lean Six Sigma, DCF Certified Skills Facilitator and Effective Mentoring. She also is a Florida Certified Contract Manager.
Laura has a beautiful family with her husband, Sterling and their three daughters Jordan, Jayda and Jaycee. When she is not at the soccer fields supporting her daughters, Laura enjoys running, cycling and traveling. Laura is from the Chicago area and loves traveling to visit her favorite city often and enjoying some amazing Chicago deep dish pizza.
